Miami Series

This series is a continuation of the exploration of themes originated for the MA Graduate works. Because they were developed for the Art Basel Miami week Red Dot Exhibition, photographs of beach locations visited in the past were used for colour and mood reflective of the intangible freedom of the wind, sand and waves. Images of individual privation, adversity and physical struggle transcend into figures of ecstasy, strength and accomplishment in the metamorphosis to empowerment enabled through the arts. Gilding plays with materiality, surface, depth and the preciousness of art creation and performance. Visual music contributes to motion.
